Summer made a fleeting appearance last weekend……….but I’m still waiting for a more permanent solution.

THE YC PARTY LAST SATURDAY WAS WELL-ATTENDED AND FUN……….Jeff Brakke is now two for two when it comes to hosting CLYC parties.

ONLY 12 DAYS LEFT………You have until June 29 to sign up and buy tickets for the 80^th Anniversary Gala, which will be held at the Surf on Saturday, July 11^th. It’s a mere $25.00/person, unless you’re fortunate enough to be under 16 years of age, in which case it’s a measly $8.00/child. It is easy to purchase tickets online by going to the CLYC Web Site (www.clyciowa.com) and clicking on the “Gala Information” tab. Or, if you are so inclined, you can contact Paul Hanus (641-357-1741) to buy your tickets in some other fashion.

THE ANNUAL DAD/MOM/LAD/LASS RACE IS THIS WEEKEND…………but note that race has been rescheduled from its usual Sunday afternoon time. The race will now be held this Friday evening, June 19, at 6:00 p.m. Even better, there will be a potluck at the YC Building afterwards…….so bring a meat item to grill, a dish to share and your personal beverage of choice. I am told there will be substantial boasting and fibbing (mainly by the skipper-parents) and even more substantial heckling (mainly by the crew-kids).

SAILING SCHOOL’S FIRST SESSION STARTED THIS WEEK……..If you are interested in registering for sessions later this summer, you should either go to the Sailing School Web Site (www.clycss.com) where you can easily register online……….or contact Mark Tesar (mtesar@netins.net) or Andi Tisor (andi_tisor@msn.com).
