June 1, 2018

Well, that was a memorable Memorial Day weekend in more ways than one.  Until Monday evening, I thought the holiday would be remembered for being the hottest on record.  After Monday evening, it will be the 70 mph straight line winds that will be the more lasting memory.

THE FIRST YACHT CLUB PARTY OF THE SEASON……is this Saturday, June 2, at the Oltrogge, Tesar residences (a/k/a the Compound) on North Shore Drive. It starts at 6:30 p.m. and Social Members have the honors of bringing the hors d’oeuvres.  This will be a great opportunity to trade stories about Monday evening’s storm damage while consuming the best eats of the season.

MEMORIAL DAY REGATTA RESULTS………..Winds were light (on Saturday) to non-existent (on Sunday), but we managed to make it a two race regatta to kick off the season. The turnout was better than expected, given how far behind everyone is on dock installs, lift deliveries and boat retrievals.
