Don’t even think that summer is slipping away……….there’s still lots to do before we put away boats, lifts and docks and pull out iceboats.  For example:

NEXT CLYC PARTY……..is this Saturday, July 27 at Tom and Denni Erickson’s residence (101 5thAvenue N.). Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. Board members have the honors of bringing hors d’oeuvres.

THE REGATTA SEASON IS UNDERWAY IN A BIG WAY………It kind of began with the E Invitational that we hosted a couple of weeks ago here at Clear Lake (and hosted very, very well, I might add). Last weekend we sent some MCs (and PROs) to Gull Lake for the MC Invitational.  This weekend we are represented by a bunch of X Boats (and more PROs) at X Championships on Lake Minnetonka…..followed closely by Opti Champs at White Bear Lake. Next weekend CLYC sailors will head to Lake Okoboji for the Interlake Regatta…….and also to White Lake, Michigan for the Western Michigans. Two weeks later it’s ILYA Championships at Oshkosh in Wisconsin.  And the list goes on and on right up to the Polar Bear Regatta in October at Lake Davenport…….Good luck to all who make the effort to attend these regattas to test their racing skills, and thanks to the PROs who attend to test their judging skills……….and, lest we forget, thanks to the parents who attend to test their parenting skills.

BIG SAILING SCHOOL FUNDRAISER…………The Clear Lake Yacht Sailing School dba Clear Lake Sailing Center is in the midst of a fundraiser that runs through August 1. They are selling all sizes of coolers and all sizes of tumblers with your choice of CLYC logos or Sailing Center logos.  The coolers and tumblers will be on display at Erickson’s during this weekend’s Yacht Club Party (see above).

Attached to this newsletter are order forms with pictures of all the coolers and tumblers. Fill out your form and make sure it gets to Andi Tisor by August 1.  Follow the instructions at the bottom of the form to either (a) mail the form to Andi or (b) email it to her.
Incidentally, if you are interested in coolers or tumblers with other logos (company, kids sports teams, etc) you can get in touch with Mason City alum, Mike Busch (mike@getbwoutdoors.com), who markets these products and did all the logos for Andi.
